The Sheaborhood

Discover the Sheaborhood: A Hidden Gem in North Phoenix

If you’re looking for a neighborhood that combines character, convenience, outdoor
recreation and a strong sense of community, take a look at the Sheaborhood in
North Phoenix.
Located around 32nd Street and Shea Boulevard, the Sheaborhood is a locally
recognized area known for its established neighborhoods, mature landscaping, larger
lots and easy access to some of the best amenities in North Phoenix. The area is
primarily associated with the 85028 zip code and stretches toward the Cactus Road
area, with the Phoenix Mountain Preserve creating a beautiful natural backdrop nearby.

A Neighborhood With Personality

What makes the Sheaborhood different is that it doesn’t feel like a neighborhood
created all at once. Many of the homes were built decades ago, giving the area a more
established feel, with mature trees, established landscaping and a variety of
architectural styles.
There is also a wonderful mix of longtime residents, families, professionals and people
who have discovered the area more recently. It’s the kind of place where you can enjoy
the convenience of being close to everything while still feeling like you are part of a
neighborhood.

Local Businesses Make It Special

One of the things I love about the Sheaborhood is the collection of locally owned
businesses that have helped give the area its identity.
A local favorite is 32 Shea, located at 32nd Street and Shea Boulevard. What began in
a converted 1980s drive-through photo shop has become a neighborhood gathering
place featuring coffee, breakfast and lunch, cocktails and dinner. It even has a dog-
friendly patio!
You will also find specialty businesses such as Shea Cheese and Just Roughin It, an
outdoor recreation store that hosts community events and hiking activities. The
concentration of independent businesses gives the area a more personal,
neighborhood-oriented feel.

Outdoor Recreation Right Nearby

For those who enjoy an active lifestyle, the location is hard to beat.

The Phoenix Mountain Preserve is nearby, offering hiking, mountain biking and
beautiful desert scenery. The surrounding parks and recreation areas add even more
opportunities to get outside.
Just a short drive north is Roadrunner Park, a popular community park with open
green space, a pond, sports facilities, picnic areas and tennis and pickleball courts.
And if you’re heading toward the Cactus Road corridor, you’ll find plenty of additional
shopping, restaurants and everyday conveniences and the PV Reimagined formerly PV Mall.

Convenient to Phoenix, Scottsdale & Beyond

Location is another major attraction.

The Sheaborhood offers convenient access to SR-51, making it easy to travel
throughout the Valley. You’re also close to Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, North Phoenix
and many of the shopping, dining and employment centers throughout the area.

The combination of an established residential setting and convenient freeway access is
one of the reasons this part of Phoenix continues to attract buyers who want more than
just a house—they want a neighborhood with a sense of place.

Why I Love and Live In the Sheaborhood

To me, the Sheaborhood represents something that can be difficult to find in a rapidly
growing city: a neighborhood with history, personality and community spirit.

You have mature neighborhoods, local businesses, outdoor recreation, mountain
scenery and everyday conveniences—all within a central North Phoenix location.

If you’re considering buying or selling in the Sheaborhood, I would love to help you
understand the different pockets of the area, the homes available and what makes each
section unique.
